It seems as though the software giant, Microsoft, is making a somewhat of a comeback against Sony with their most recent Gamescom press conference in Cologne, France. No one will ever forget their push for strict DRMs and a then-mandatory Kinect. Microsoft has recently shifted away from the Kinect, instead focusing on the games as the consumers demanded. This strategy has worked greatly to their benefit. Here are some of the games shown off at this year’s Microsoft’s Gamescom press conference:

San Diego Comic-Con is the biggest comic convention in the country and a big aspect of that is cosplay. There is nothing more fun than stopping a fellow cosplayer to admire the work and effort they put into their costume. At the largest comic-con, taking pictures of cosplayers on the exhibit floor is at times difficult and the hardest part is trying to capture a picture without someone accidentally photo-bombing your shot. Here are some of the costumes that we caught in and outside the convention for this year’s show:
Bruce Campbell famously known for his roles in Evil Dead & Army of Darkness, hosted a panel at this year’s Phoenix Comicon. The panel was by far one of the funniest panels at this year’s convention. Bruce, put on quite a show, first starting off with having some ‘Evil Dead’ Ash cosplay on center stage. Bruce, then had the audience choose who had the best Ash … Continue reading Bruce Campbell Spotlight at Phoenix Comicon 2014

Phoenix Comicon has been extremely successful and growing in popularity since its establishment 13 years ago, first debuting back in 2002 with a $3 per day admission and total of 432 attendees. Now, Phoenix Comicon memberships range anywhere between $20 to $50 per day online and even cost more on site. Last year’s event had well over 50,000 attendees. With this many attendees, the capacity of the Phoenix convention center was put to its limits, so much that it was a fire hazard. Thus, why this year’s event will have a cap on memberships, though no memberships at the moment are currently sold out, with last year’s convention, don’t count on buying your memberships at the event, because when you get to the con, they just might be sold out already. Though some may ponder whether last year’s show had bigger actors, artists and exhibitors, and some may disagree, you can count on this year’s programming to bring in some awesome entertainment. The entertainment rich and unique can be easily ruined if one is not prepared. Comicon is a fun pop culture adventure, not having the necessary and right tools in your inventory can ruined this unique and rich experience Phoenix has to offer. Phoenix itself unique to other cities in the country, “good ways” as a native Phoenician would probably say, or as an outsider would probably call this place a “desert wasteland”, Phoenix not perfect in anyway, can easily be enjoyable, but it is all about knowing your surroundings.
This year’s Zombie Walk was breathtaking having great festivities, awesome costumes, good foods, and with the attendance in the thousands, AZ Zombie Walk keeps on getting bigger every year. This was my first year attending the downtown Phoenix Zombie Walk, and I have to say I had a great time meeting, filming and taking pictures of the Zombiefied public. I got to Heritage Square around 4:30pm, the Zombie Walk festival started at 2:00pm with the initial walk starting at 6:00pm. In my observations, I saw for every 3 people there was at least 1 zombie among them. It seemed as though everyone was in deep zombie character, this changed the environment drastically, one could imagine that they were in the middle of a zombie outbreak, with surrounding tall buildings shadowing the park, and survivors fending out the hordes of zombies. If you happened to miss out on Zombie Walk 5, check out the video at the bottom of the page. I hope you like “Teknosquid’s Zombie Walk 5”, video compilation. I took the footage myself and tried to capture the best moments of this free awesome event! Continue reading “Zombie Walk 5: Surviving and Enduring”

In the movie Star Trek Into Darkness, director J.J. Abrams boldly goes where no other movie has gone before… well sort of. Without going too heavily into spoilers, the film does borrow from other Star Trek lore, but does so in an interesting and fresh way. Just like the first film Star Trek, released in 2009, Into Darkness feels very accessible to casual moviegoers, but still has exactly what hardcore Trekkies and longtime fans of the series want to see. Abrams does a great job of balancing this very well; rewarding fans with what they wish to see yet still allowing newcomers to follow along with the plot without alienating them too much. The film is full of action packed scenes that make it entertaining throughout, including amazing space battles and awesome shoot outs, never leaving a dull moment.
Hey Everyone, Check out the footage of South Park: Stick of Truth Panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2013. I took the film myself, and tried to capture the best moments of the panel, forgive me for the shaking, this is what usually happens when you don’t have a tripod when filming. Getting back on subject, I have to say, this was one of the best panel’s that I have … Continue reading Recap South Park: Stick of Truth Panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2013
